Due to the random scattering, every TAFNEX™ Design Sheet naturally has a distinct look. There are numerous customization options available, including various chip sizes and multiple coloring choices. Additionally, the look can be altered by modifying the temperature and pressure during the manufacturing process. Discover the various options available below.
TAFNEX™ Design Sheets are reinforced with randomly oriented long fibers rather than aligned continuous fibers, resulting in significantly lower mechanical performance compared to other TAFNEX™ Sheets. To mitigate this, UD layers can be added on the non-visible side or in between. Additionally, incorporating just a single UD layer can greatly enhance the handleability of TAFNEX™ Design Sheets during component production.
TAFNEX™ Design Sheets are manufactured to your specifications, with thicknesses starting from approximately 0.5 mm. While most applications are covered with thicknesses up to 1 mm, higher thicknesses are possible as well.
TAFNEX™ Design Sheets are made to your required dimensions, not restricted by standard sizes. Sheets can be produced up to 3 meters in both length and width.
The forged carbon appearance of TAFNEX™ Design Sheets is greatly affected by the chip size. Smaller chips suit smaller components, while larger chips typically look better on larger ones. The chip size is adjustable, but we recommend the following standard sizes:
