Mitsui Chemicals Group (Tokyo, Japan) unveiled a new website for their TAFNEX™ composite product line on September 1st. This updated site merges the previous separate websites for the western and eastern markets into a single global platform dedicated to carbon fiber (CF) reinforced polypropylene (PP) materials. The site features a contemporary design and provides extensive new information on various TAFNEX™ products, including specifications and additional use cases to inspire potential customers.
Expanding the TAFNEX™ product lineup
The TAFNEX™ brand has also introduced a new product line: compound materials. This line includes several grades for Injection Molding, varying in fiber length and content, as well as a grade specifically designed for Fused Granular Fabrication (FGF). This new grade enables the additive manufacturing of large components without the typical issues of warpage associated with PP. Additionally, the website highlights the next technological advancement for the TAFNEX™ brand: carbon fibers which are eco-friendly produced via microwave technology. Evaluations on a pilot production line are currently underway, with commercial operations expected to commence in 2027.
How the new website came to life
Mitsui Chemicals Europe spearheaded the project for the new product website, with local support from Düsseldorf for design and implementation. As Lead Agency and Creative Director, Daniel Lanzrath was responsible for the new visual identity and website design. The implementation was carried out by the skilled team at digital agency emit.digital. Mitsui Chemicals Group expresses its gratitude for the successful launch of the new tafnex.com website.
As part of the project, new image content was created during an extensive photo shoot on June 30th. Led by Daniel Lanzrath and photographed by Urs Kusche, the shoot visually captured the TAFNEX™ brand across three different locations. At the Technical Solutions Center (TSC Laboratory) of Mitsui Chemicals Europe, the focus was on various TAFNEX™ products and smaller components. In Aachen, the emphasis was on processing TAFNEX™ into lightweight components at the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and Craft at RWTH Aachen University, where impressions of Thermoforming and the Fused Granular Fabrication (FGF) process were captured.
The shoot also took place at Aachen Center for Integrative Lightweight Production (AZL) at RWTH Aachen University, where images of Injection Molding with TAFNEX™ UD Tape inserts, a static press, and the company's double belt press were taken. Mitsui Chemicals extends its thanks to Urs Kusche, the IKV and AZL for their support.
